What's Next for Project Read and Framing Your Thoughts?
Our goal is and has always been, to utilize these fantastic curricula as a starting point for our expansion into foundational skills and writing instruction. We've spent the last year building from this curricula base to create new resources for the field that reflect today's classrooms. Like our phonemic awareness curriculum, Bridge to Reading and Bridge to Writing are easy for teachers to implement, fun and engaging for students, and based on the latest research available.
The new foundational skills curriculum, Bridge to Reading, is now available to purchase for kindergarten through second grade, with third-grade development underway. We hope to expand through to fifth grade in the coming years. Bridge to Reading features many loved aspects of Project Read, including the Spell Tabs Folders.
Coming this spring for grades K-5, Bridge to Writing builds from the foundations of Framing Your Thoughts and Paragraph Writing. Heggerty has reimagined this source material, providing grade-level specificity, explicit teacher language and direction, and updating to reflect the latest research on how children learn to read and write. Like Framing Your Thoughts, Bridge to Writing can be used alongside any existing ELA curricula to create a more comprehensive instruction block.
