    • a weekly opener with “I can” statements to help identify learning objectives for students,
    • application for letter formation as a sound-spelling relationship is introduced,

  • The word printed on the front with an octagon shape under irregular spelling patterns alerts children to the parts of the words they must stop and analyze the pattern.

  • Help students develop automatic sight word recognition, with a focus on phoneme-grapheme connections, and encourage children to NOT memorize words.

• 26 Student Spell Tabs Folders
  • Each folder includes individual sticky tabs for all letters of the alphabet; qu letter combination; consonant digraphs (-sh, -ch, -th, -wh); -ck; word endings -s, -es, -ed, -ing.
  • The Spell Tabs Folders provide students the opportunity for a hands-on, multisensory experience to construct, blend, decode, and read words. The Spell Tabs Folders are incorporated into daily instruction. Spell Tabs folders are also used in small-group, differentiated instruction. This component provides highly effective guided and independent practice for mastery of sound-spelling relationships.

  • The Bridge to Reading decodable readers provide a cumulative unit review of learned sound-spelling relationships and Red Words. The meaningful, comprehensible, and engaging readers develop students’ ability to independently read connected text.
